The idea for the U.K.T.U. was formed back in June 2009 - the four groups involved had a long working relationship and had already been conducting courses, seminars and tournaments etc. together. This working relationship seemed to create a problem for certain individuals in the U.K., resulting in the creation of the U.K.T.U.
A decision was taken to create a union within the U.K. that would house all I.T.F. styles (and those not currently involved with the I.T.F.).
We have four founding officers - each work every day in their respected regions to promote the U.K.T.U. and its operating standards and deliver the U.K.T.U.'s professional standards across the board.
We are four people with one vision. You too can be part of us and enhance your club / groups potential by uniting with other like minded coaches from around the U.K. and standing tall for the sake of our art.
The U.K.T.U. was officially born on 01/01/2010. At the head of the group are the following four officers - Master Isaac Harry, 8th Degree, Mr. Chris Snow, 5th Degree, Mr. Nicholas Gardner, 4th Degree, and Mr. Paul Cain, 4th Degree.
All the officers have many years of knowledge to offer NEW member groups - we also have world and european champions, Masters and senior I.T.F. / non I.T.F. Examiners. The U.K.T.U.'s biggest strength will be its networking abilities and organised events, where all members inside the U.K.T.U. will try to support each other.
Our fully functional events system means all Instructors can register their events, giving you maximum exposure from when you decide to host an event. No permission is needed, but we do ask all members to hold events a few weeks apart from other listed events.
We urge all coaches to contact your regional director and consider joining us, as the U.K.T.U. promises no other U.K. body will deliver what we do for such a low price. Our main aim is to provide an umbrella for U.K. Tae Kwon Do, where all are happy to be affiliated, so the question is - are you ready to stand up and be counted?
